quicker picker upper

Winter just keeps hanging on, and the snow just keeps piling up. I’ll keep this one short, as there’s way too much in my head I don’t even want to get into right now. I had a great time and what ended up being a rather therapeutic set this past Thursday at Natt Spil for my monthly edition of ₪ Mentality ₪. I need to work on getting the word out to you guys on those a little more here, but hit me up on Facebook for more regular reminders. They’re sort of my quiet night to experiment on the aura of the room, and it’s usually quite interesting.

Coming up fast this Friday at the Cardinal is the Neu Disco weekly. This new night keeps heating things up with some really fresh and funky stuff, coming from a lot of the newest faces on the local scene and some really well timed up and coming breakaway talent too. This week I’ll be opening for the well traveled Le Principle out of Chicago and GHOSTS OF VENICE from the UK. I’m looking forward to setting the mood for some serious party action. We’re working on expanding the lighting there to include some lasers, and effects showcasing the new 21″ disco ball are evolving quite nicely. Keep an eye out for the new website as well, some initial nodding and stewing has already begun!

Also just recently I got word about a party I’m really pumped for, this one taking me out of town for a much needed breather. And it’s to open for one of my favorites, Mazi. The night, dubbed Hiawatha Sessions, takes place at B Side in Milwaukee and it all blows up on Saturday, March 6th. I’m looking forward to dropping some deep, techy goodness for the heads that will recognize and appreciate what’s thumping. In the current sea of skinny jeans, ironic moustaches, and synthpop throwbacks, it’ll be good to drop some creamy bass lines and funky bleeps back out onto the dance floor. Ok, and maybe some of that other stuff too. It really is fun. hmm, I should probably get some kind of ironic t-shirt ready.
