hey gang,
filling you in on the latest and greatest, there’s been a steady evolution of action on the decks lately. The Cardinal continues to make (sound) waves throughout the dance community, although I’m no longer at the helm on Mondays. Nice enough gesture, but not much to work with. There’s also the new Opa lounge down on State St. It’s a veritable blank slate of a venue, in desperate need of something to tie it all together and make it a true destination. I’m hoping to let it become a new experiment of sorts, as I have some freedom to do a bit of remodeling there. I have plenty of ideas, but the budget of “we’ll talk about payment after you’re done” leaves a bit to be desired. Specifically any money. I’m half tempted to just barrel through it anyway, since the concept is a great one and it’s artistic territory I have yet to traverse. We’ll see how the weekend plays out, I’m also itchin’ to get back into the wood shop some more before it gets super fucking cold outside, and that’s feeling like it’s coming real soon.
| Anyway, on to the real news, I’m finally playing for local party outfit indiequeer as they host their signature DISCOTECH series at the Majestic on Friday, December 4th! I’ll be playing in the Marquee room starting at 9:00 I think. Honestly I don’t even know how long I’m playing for, but it’ll be an interesting opportunity no matter what. Hopefully the partnership will continue to evolve, as they’re some of the most like minded promoters out there right now.
I’ve also managed to sneak down to the studio for a bit, and got a little groove going. It feels damn good to be back on it, and I’m working hard to make sure I cover some healthy ground over the winter and come out with some actual, whole, real completed tracks. Time to crawl under a blanket and put some tunes together. See you on the sledding hill. |
