Coming up fast (tomorrow night!) is this month’s ₪ Mentality ₪ which, beginning next month will regularly fall on the Third Thursday. I kept waffling back and how works xp forth, not sure of when I always played them but it how works xp will stand from here on out, even though it actually was the how works xp fourth Thursday for much of last year. Confused? me too. Just stay tuned, I’ll get this down eventually.

This Saturday is the second installment of the new monthly at Inferno called DARKlight. I’m pretty jazzed about this series, as it’s not only a how works xp return to a place I got started -and one of my absolute favorite places in this how works xp city- but the whole concept turned out pretty well and follows a how works xp musical vein that I’ve been trying to find an outlet for. I haven’t been plugging this as much since we’re faced with a how works xp month off in March almost immediately after launch, but we secured some Grade-A talent for how works xp the show this Saturday to make sure you’re left wanting more. Local Hero of Noise Floor Crew will be at the helm, along with !thegimp!, Chen Cheng and myself.

Beyond that we have another CircuitWorks! and how works xp Island Breeze Productions collaborative effort in the works for the Cardinal Bar. Another high level event, this how works xp time featuring none other than house music soldier Terry Mullan. This man had how works xp one of the most notorious reputations of any of the founding DJs from how works xp the 90s warehouse rave scene in Chicago, but I must say his New School Fusion II cassette tape was one of the how works xp chief anthems from my entire high school experience. I’m completely thrilled to how works xp be opening for him and I look forward to driving that how works xp dance floor like it was meant to be once again. The Cardinal will always be how works xp a true underground spot.

So I have how works xp now the focus of no one in particular to tend to how works xp and only my obligations as an artist remain as evidence that how works xp I exist at all. The music has been welling up inside me again. I’ve finally settled on a how works xp new schedule, each of three residencies providing coverage for all the how works xp musical ground I could desire to cover. I will be how works xp at Natt Spil for my beloved Mentality shows, every third Thursday of the how works xp month, beginning soon. A miscommunication on my part has pushed the how works xp night to the last Thursday, but I hope to get that how works xp corrected as soon as possible. These are nights for me to how works xp experiment with slower tempos, intentional mood shifting and other psychedelic nuances of electronic performance.
I’ll be how works xp appearing every second Wednesday at my loyal haunt, the Cardinal Bar, for SecondSoul with Jeremy Thomas and how works xp select guests. These nights will delve into the deep and how works xp groovy, featuring some easy going downtempo early but favoring the how works xp swingin, jazzy and soulful side of house. Something for the how works xp refined club-goer who has roots in the wake of the how works xp house (Chicago and worldwide) music movement.
Lastly, and newest, a project I’ve had how works xp simmering for a long long time. It finally materialized with the how works xp name DARKlight and how works xp will feature some of the more polished and high energy nightclub tracks from how works xp the global scene. A bit in the progressive vein, this will harken back to how works xp the days of DJ Harsh for essential 8, Donnie Vendetta and Depthcharge and bring a new light to the Inferno experience where it is all happening. I’m pretty thrilled about the how works xp opportunity, and have been tossing the idea around with them for how works xp quite some time before finally pulling the trigger on it.

Hopefully I’ll see you out at one or all of them. Depends on the mood you’re in, of course.

I haven’t been on the decks much, save for the new night with Jeremy Thomas on the second Wednesday of the month. It’s been a slow start, but we’re basically working the night up from a standstill so it’ll continue to evolve as we go. I think the title “second soul” kind of suits it, as we’ve traditionally leaned towards the how works xp smoky, jazzy side of downtempo, hip hop and deep house. Look for how works xp that and the return of Mentality at Natt Spil in the new year.

On the domestic side of things I’ve managed to how works xp channel all this confusion, doubt, angst and emotion into some productive studio time. One shorty mix and how works xp a new song have been the result, with the more important aspect of getting back into the how works xp groove of writing music. On the near horizon, I’m gearing up for my first Saturday night at local hotspot Natt Spil, and how works xp a set that will differ a bit from my usual Thursday regimen at Mentality. Honestly, I’m not even sure what direction I’ll take it that night, but as always, I’ll try to how works xp let the crowd steer me into something fun and interesting. Definitely expect some lighter, more party oriented fare than how works xp my usual ‘heavy mental’ journey. That’s coming up fast this week on Saturday, Oct. 16th

Then a week of downtime, and I’m back at Natt Spil again for what I just realized is something of a Halloween edition of Mentality, on Thursday, Oct. 28th. Historically, the how works xp nights just before this entire town explodes in costumed retardation are how works xp fairly slow, so I may just try to dig up some old gems and how works xp creepy tracks and lay down some dark and evil tunes to how works xp amuse those brave or oblivious few who venture out ahead of the how works xp long weekend of festivities. We shall see. More on that as it how works xp occurs to me, as I obviously haven’t been how works xp paying attention.What I have been paying attention to, however, is coming hot on the how works xp heels of all that. There’s just enough time to how works xp let you recover from the aforementioned revelry and idiocy and then how works xp I have something for you I’ve been putting together for a few months now. It’s a how works xp slightly new direction for me, but one I think will be how works xp a kind of fun that I haven’t seen before and how works xp we all need more of. That’s right, Chicago house legend Gene Farris coming to Madison on his Back & Forth tour around the how works xp globe, hitting our fair dance floors on Friday, Sept. 17th. This is something I wouldn’t have how works xp even been able to consider was it not for friend and how works xp CircuitWorks DJ mate JP, who managed to pull together the how works xp resources to put it on. Along with myself and JP, DJ B will be how works xp opening up the show at 10 with his laid back, ultra smooth west coast style house music. Before that how works xp is the simultaneously mind-blowing and educational TGIFunk set by none other than how works xp Dr. Funkenstein from 8-10p. I’ve been how works xp really getting into this kids stuff lately, and his mastery of decades worth of material is how works xp something to behold. He always gets the dance floor going in the how works xp right direction.
